Metrocentre receives hundreds of requests to help charities every year. We have organised fund raising opportunities within the Centre to help as many worthwhile causes as possible.
Here is how you can take advantage of the Centre's fundraising opportunities
Charity Barrow
Registered charities are able to book the Charity Barrow for up to seven days in one calendar year (this includes one weekend only), providing the dates you require are available. The Charity Barrow can only be used for the sale of tangible goods, raffle or simply for promotional purposes. If you would like an application form to book the barrow or for any more information please click here to email your query
Charity Collections
Charity collections take place on Saturdays only where only one charity is allowed to collect.
Collections take place at the four main entrances to the red, green, blue and yellow malls. In accordance with Gateshead Council's rules for Charity Collections you are also required to complete an 'Application for a Street Collection Permit' form, which must be returned direct to the council at the following address: Commercial and Consumer Services, Gateshead Council, Civic Centre, Regent Street, Gateshead, NE8 1HH.
If you wish to contact the Council about your street collection permit then please phone (0191) 433 3000 ext. 3939.
To obtain a Charity Collections application form or for any more information click here to email your query.
Please note that your collection date is subject to approval from the Council and is not confirmed until you are in possession of your Street Collection Permit.
Your charity is only permitted to have one Saturday collection per year.
