Getting to Metrocentre

Metrocentre is located 3 miles south west of Newcastle Upon Tyne on the A1 road west of Gateshead.

Shoppers visiting Metrocentre in the evening to take advantage of leisure facilities and restaurants should park in the yellow and blue car parks.

From the south
Travel along the A1(M) northbound.
From the A1 Washington Services keep in left hand lanes at junction 65 then continue onto the A1 (signposted A1 Gateshead, Newcastle)
Continue along the Gateshead Western Bypass
Continue onto Newcastle Western Bypass
Branch left (signposted Metrocentre), then turn right onto Hollinside Road. and cross road bridge.

From the north
Join the A1 southbound heading towards Newcastle and Gateshead (signposted The South A1M, Gateshead)
Continue until you see signs for Metrocentre.

Metrocentre also has FREE charging point for Electric Cars. This service can be found on the 3rd level of the Yellow multi storey car park. Free hire of cables and keys available from the yellow customer services desk, a £20 deposit and form of ID is required.
