Est...

Stylish, ambient and at the cutting edge of Italian restaurant design, Est in MetroCentre’s Blue Mall brings real style to Mediterranean cooking.

On arrival to the restaurant my guest and I were shown to our table and the welcoming aroma of freshly prepared food was instantly evident.

As we browsed the menu my guest, who admittedly is not normally the biggest fan of Italian food, commented on how much choice there was and really didn’t know where to start in placing her order.

Eventually though we decided on the bacon and cheese potato skins and the prawn cocktail starter. Both arrived swiftly and while my prawn cocktail was well prepared, moist and tasty, my guest commented that her starter was beautifully presented, hot, and a very generous portion – leaving her concerned she may not manage her main course!

We decided to take the risk though and for mains my guest ordered the Chicken Fusilli Primavera and myself, the classic Penne Arrabbiata.

The Chicken Fusilli Primavera consisted of a generous portion of tender chicken and pasta, served with assorted fresh vegetables, well presented and very enjoyable, whilst the Penne Arrabiata, which can come with optional pepperoni, was hot and spicy and with an appetising extra kick.

The pasta was cooked ‘al dente’ and the meal was served with a generous amount of tomato sauce, chillies and garlic, making it a real delight.

We both decided to bypass the sweets section fearing it was a step too far on this occasion, although the choice was also vast with cakes, and ice creams galore.

Est… is a real delight and the menu focuses on wholesome Italian ingredients, listing both old favourites and new dishes. With an impressive amount of choice from pastas, to pizzas to chicken dishes and more there really is something for every palate. Plus there is a delightful bar area and cocktail menu should you just wish to stop and reboot before continuing your shopping!

And with the meal coming to less than £15 per person we left, full and heartily impressed with the whole experience!
